It’s all happening in Adelaide this week for gather round and seven clubs are going all in the newest tradition. These clubs have created unique Guernseys in celebration of the gather round and will be donning this kit on the grass this week in Adelaide. Honestly, they’re actually all absolute bangers and prove that the team kits can get a fresh coat of paint without the losing the feel of the club, which so many teams I think could use for their standard guernseys. Ranked from least favourite to favourite, these designs are all great and I’d happily see them replace most teams signature club home or away kit.
7. West Coast Eagles
West Coast Eagles are starting strong with the Electric Eagle Guernsey. The design looks like a bit of a refresh of their standard home Guernsey and nothing too risky or outrageously different.
6. Melbourne
Melbourne Demons are bringing back the flaming demon head for their gather round design and honestly I’m a big fan. This is one of the designs I’d be very happy to see replace their standard away kit. Really highlights their club colours and has that fresh feeling that Melbourne could use to breathe some life into their club kit.
5. Hawthorn
Hawthorn bringing in a heritage feeling with this design. Whilst I’ve never loved the Hawthorn colour scheme this kit really emphasises that classic feeling and actually makes their colours pop a lot more and gives the guernsey that vintage Victoria feeling.
4. Adelaide Crows
Home team are coming out something fierce with this Dark Mode edition of the Adelaide Crows Guernsey. One of my all-time favourite designs of any club has long been the GWS Giants stealth guernseys and this is giving similar vibes. The dark block behind the logo really allows the updated logo on the front to have all the time to shine and it looks phenomenal.
3. Sydney Swans
With a collaboration with Nike, Swans have released a design much like their standard kit but with a colour invert and it is CLEAN! Whilst more similar to their primary kit than the West Coast this design still feels more unique and marks the significance of an event round.
2. Gold Coast Suns
I love it. I absolutely love it. Out of all the guernseys here this is the one that should absolutely 100% replace the team’s current kit. How dare the Gold Coast Suns not use this every week as their home jumper. The colours feel so very Gold Coast, the pink is also very unique and gives the team much more of its own identity. It’s criminal this will only be used for one round. I’m no Suns fan but I’d wear this running its down right sexy.
1. St Kilda
Retro is back and St Kilda not only know it, but have absolutely crushed it. St Kilda have released this heritage stripe design, harkening back too its roots but also included a white collar and it has no rights being this freaking good. I love the collar look. These boys mean business and after their last few wins the club looks to continue to do so in style. I don’t think too many other clubs that could’ve pulled off the heritage design, collar and all, that still looks fresh and modern. It’s a masterclass in design and easily takes the top spot for my favourite design.
