The film follows the journey of three lifelong pals who venture into the realm of fatherhood later in life, presenting them with the arduous task of adapting to an evolving world while clinging to their ’80s nostalgia.

Bill Burr’s character, Jack, grapples with a resistance to change. Jack’s attempt to assimilate into his son’s progressive preschool community is rife with comedic mishaps. He finds himself at odds with the younger, hipper parents and even faces off with the school’s relentless principal, portrayed by Rachael Harris, leading to a comically unforgettable intervention.
Complicating matters further, Jack and his friends find themselves struggling to adapt to a rapidly changing workplace culture. They have recently sold their company of 23 years to a millennial CEO played by Miles Robbins, who aims to transform it into a “gender-neutral, carbon-neutral 21st-century lifestyle apparel brand.”
Amid Jack’s recurring anger issues, his relationship is put to the test. Meanwhile, his friends grapple with their own challenges—Connor (Bobby Cannavale) clings desperately to his youth, and Mike (Bokeem Woodbine) faces a personal crisis as he discovers his much younger girlfriend’s pregnancy. As the trio navigates generational divides and their place in an evolving culture, they come to the realization that adapting or finding a middle ground might be the only way forward.
