Kmart are urgently recalling an Anko branded coffee keep cup after it’s reportedly left someone injured. The ACCC have issued a recall notice on the item.
The double-walled coffee cups (with lids), found in both Kmarts and Targets have grown to be quite popular since hitting shelves in December. But it’s been reported that an individual was left injured after the coffee cups lid ejected itself at speed from the top of the cup due to the pressure and heat.
The ACCC inform owners of the keep cup that they could be at risk of serious injury if the lid were to launch at you, as well as, spewing hot liquid on the user in the process. Kmart themselves have also warned customers to “immediately stop using the product”, evening offering refunds when returned to the store. Kmart even going so far as to request you get in contact with them if you are unable to return the product, or you’ve gifted the item or sold it to someone else.
