The Ballarat Wood & Craft Show returns to the Showgrounds this weekend.
This year’s event may be with a hint of emotion as it’ll be the last show at the Creswick Road site, with the new Mount Rowan facility currently being built.
The event on Saturday will include demonstrations of wood turning and scroll sawing, along with a number of homemade items for sale.
Woodworkers Guild committee member David Izard says they’ll leave with fond memories.
“It’s been a hub for the community for so many years, although it’s terribly outdated now, we all realize that,” he said.
“There’s certainly going to be a lot of community feeling that goes with it, sort of a bit like a civic hall I suppose. There’s a lot of things there in retrospect that warm the heart.”
