A retired Liberal MP has raised questions as to why potholes on the Western Freeway are worse closer to Ballarat than they are to Melbourne.
Paul Jenkins took the time to count them last Sunday, with the results surprising.
From Ballarat to Bacchus Marsh there’s 139 potholes, not including ones already patched, compared to just 8 from Bacchus Marsh to the West Gate Bridge.

The return journey shows equally lop-sided numbers.
Mr. Jenkins has called on local Labor MPs to take action – and not blame the weather.
