Despite a reasonably quiet weekend for officers, Ballarat police say they’re seeing a consistent trend in items being stolen from vehicles.
Police are urging locals to lock their vehicles, even when they’re at home, never leave valuable items in the car and remove documents that could lead to a risk of identity theft.
They also say to park in well-lit areas where possible and try to avoid leaving your car unchecked for long periods of time.
