There’s a possibility wool classing will be taught in the Ballarat region later this year.
It’s currently not offered here through TAFE, despite the fact there’s a shortage of qualified wool classers.
South West TAFE’s Bec Toleman says they’re holding an online information session on Monday night to gauge interest.

“They’re the end part of the finances for the farmers, so they oversee the shearing shed, they class the wool that goes off to sale and obviously the money goes into the farmers pockets, so it’s a really important role,” she said.
