Woolworths’ stock shortage continues to hit local outlets, as the supermarket chain tries to sort out a crippling strike that’s shut down five of its distribution centers.
In Ballarat, customers are reporting some products are no longer available and shelves are looking barer by the day.
The stoppage, which is into its second week, has led to shortages of products in Victoria and NSW, with frozen and cold-stored foods particularly affected.
Up to 1500 workers at four Woolworths warehouses in Victoria and another in NSW walked off the job more than a week ago, demanding better pay and conditions.
Their union says workers are under so much pressure they fear for their safety.
One of the closed warehouses will reopen today.
