Police say they’re doubtful missing Ballarat mother Samantha Murphy is still alive.
Ms. Murphy was last seen leaving her Eureka Street property 19 days ago, to go for an early morning run.
Despite extensive searches conducted through the Canadian Forest area, no trace of her has been located.
Victoria Police are currently in the process of reviewing around 12,000 hours of CCTV footage and following up over 500 separate pieces of information.
This morning, detectives from the Missing Persons Squad began a search of areas at Mount Clear, after gathering intelligence from phone data.
Addressing the media this morning, Detective Acting Superintendent, Mark Hatt, said the most likely scenario is that her disappearance involves one or more parties.
“We’re looking into a number of people from information that we have received, and all I can say is that our avenues are taking us down certain directions and we’re following everything,” he said.
Meanwhile, a ‘mega ground search’ for Ms. Murphy is set to take place tomorrow.
The Ground Crew group are inviting locals to comb through designated areas around the city, starting at the Eureka Stockade Memorial Park on Eureka Street at 10am.
