Region braces for another wintry week

Ballarat residents are urged to rug up this week, with temperatures not reaching double digits until this Friday.

Showers are predicted later this week, dropping to lows of minus 1 tomorrow, with rain continuing through Saturday and Sunday.

Snow could also be a possibility in the Daylesford region, with the BOM’s Angus Hines telling the Age snow levels could be 600 to 700 metres above sea levels across Victoria.

On the roads, ice warning signs were activated on the Western Freeway between Ballarat and Bacchus Marsh and west of Daylesford on the Midland Highway this morning.

Vic Roads are urging drivers to avoid sudden braking and accelerating and keep a safe distance from other cars.
