Patient demand has seen Ballarat’s Urgent Care Clinic (UCC) move location and adopt longer operating hours from today.

Formerly known as the Priority Primary Care Centre in Windemere Street, the UCC is now in larger premises at 1010 Sturt Street and will be open every day from 9am to 11pm.

The Ballarat UCC provides medical care when it’s urgent but not an emergency.

UFS Healthcare, who operate the facility, say that since opening more than two years ago they’ve treated more than 34,000 patients.

“Treatment is free for all patients, regardless of whether or not the patient is eligible for a Medicare card,” said UFS Healthcare in a statement.

“The UCC is not a substitute for a patient’s usual general practice clinic.”

“Patients requiring a normal GP consultation for non-urgent conditions, including for repeat prescriptions, need to contact their regular GP.”

The UCC is now located at Level 1, 1010 Sturt Street next door to Red Rooster.
