Over $17 million in joint Federal Government and City of Ballarat funding will go to transforming the Eastwood Leisure Complex in Ballarat Central.
The existing facility will be demolished, with accessible training, meeting and activity rooms and a main hall with spaces for sport and cultural events some of the features of the new centre.
The attached stadium will be retained and reclad.
Over 1,200 Ballarat residents use the complex weekly, with over 100 clubs and organisations hiring the space annually.
Speaking at the complex yesterday, Member for Ballarat, Catherine King, said everyone has an ‘Eastwood Leisure Complex story’.
The redevelopment is expected to be complete by the end of 2026.
