A new festival will be lighting up Sovereign Hill later this year.
The new Food, Fire and Light Festival will be held over two weeks in October, which will bring flame and light shows, music, pop up food stalls, stargazing and more to the precinct.
Speaking in Ballarat yesterday, Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, Steve Dimopoulos launched the event alongside the latest round of its $38 million Regional Events Fund.
Grants of up to $500,000 will be open to festival, sporting events and exhibition organisers to grow events.
“It starts with events, but that’s not the end of the story,” Mr. Dimopoulos said.
“The story ends with [an] economic boost, jobs [and] a pipeline of events. We want regional Victoria to feel confident and optimistic about the future.”
In a statement, Member for Ripon, Martha Haylett, said the festival is one of many supported through the program that will boost local jobs and businesses.
The festival comes after the success of the tourist attraction’s Winter Wonderlights event.
