New data has revealed crime in Ballarat has risen dramatically over the past year.
Latest figures from the Crime Statistics Agency show crime in Ballarat is up 16.3 per cent to the year ending December 2024, compared to the same time the year prior.
While theft from vehicles were down slightly, offences such as breaches of family violence orders and theft from retail stores rose.

Ballarat Central, Wendouree and Sebastopol remain the city’s top crime hotspots.
During the period, only 31.4 per cent of criminal investigations saw charges laid, with 54.2 per cent of investigations remaining unsolved.
