The safety of the Little Bridge Street bus-stop precinct has again been raised in parliament.
Liberal MP Joe McCracken raising the issue late last week in a speech directed at the Minister for Police.
Last week, the newsroom was told of what was believed to be an attempted hi-jacking of a bus by a youth, as well as eggs being thrown and glass being kicked.
CDC public busses are reportedly bypassing the stop in the precinct, now dropping off and picking up at other stops nearby.
Mr. McCracken says he’s heard reports of gangs of youths entering supermarkets in the area and causing complete havoc by throwing items off shelves and abusing staff.
He says he’s happy to convene a meeting between the Minister and impacted locals, with urgent action required.
