Member for Western Victoria, Joe McCracken, has called for a monitor to be put in place to keep an eye on Ballarat council.
The MP making the call after council voted 6 to 3 last week to support a motion backing a cease fire in the Israel/Gaza war.
He says local government should focus on local issues, not international affairs.

Following the criticism, Mayor of Ballarat, Des Hudson, said Mr. McCracken should focus more on his job in Spring Street.
“He’s an upper house member and I thought focusing on government business is what’s in his wheelhouse, but he seems to have a fixation with council at times,” he said.
