A man has been charged after an elderly man was assaulted in Ballarat North last week.
On Thursday afternoon, the Walker Street resident spotted a man in his neighbour’s backyard and confronted him at about 4:15pm.
The alleged thief reportedly pushed the man to the ground, stole his phone and fled the scene, with the 90-year-old suffering serious injuries from the fall.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.
A 33-year-old man, of no fixed place, was arrested a short time later and charged with robbery and assault.
He appeared at the Ballarat Magistrates Court on Friday.
