After walking 1,000 kilometres in his fight for freedom, Ballarat resident Neil Para will finally make it to Sydney this Sunday.
Living in refugee limbo, Neil and his family have had restricted access to work, Medicare and university education due to a lack of permanent visas, with the marathon trek aiming to put the issue of 10,000 Australian refugees living without permanent visas on the national agenda.
A petition asking PM Anthony Albanese for fairness for refugees has now received nearly 18,000 signatures.
