Ballarat detectives are calling for information following a terrifying carjacking in Lucas last month.

Police understand a man and a woman were traveling in a Hyundai i30 around 3:15am on March 20th.

When the car stopped in Lucas Lane, two men wearing all black and balaclavas walked towards the 21-year-old female driver, before she was dragged from the car and assaulted.

It’s believed she tried to drive off but was stopped by the male passenger.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, whilst it’s alleged the other three men fled the scene in the Hyundai, later found burnt out near Lake Burrumbeet.

Police believe the offenders arrived in a dark coloured sedan, believed to be a Holden Berlina (pictured), later dumping it at the scene.

Detectives believe the three men involved are known to one another.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
