Locals, visitors and workers will now be able to park in 400 new spaces, now open at the Ballarat Base Hospital.
The existing multi-storey car park has had four new levels added, which brings the total number of spaces to almost 800.
New lifts have also been installed to make the spaces more accessible.
Parking at the site will be free to staff and visitors until the end of the year.
“We know that it is central to the livability of Ballarat to have excellent, well-paid jobs as well as a healthcare system we can rely upon, so to be able to say to the employees, the patients and the visitors of Ballarat Health we understand how important this hospital is to Ballarat,” said Member for Wendouree, Juliana Addison.
“We recognise that when you need to use a hospital or when you’re a shift worker working at a hospital, car parking is a really important issue for you,” she said.
