Two major announcements on Monday night will go down in the history books for Ballarat Football.
First, Darley’s Aaron Cadman has been picked up at number one in the AFL Draft by GWS Giants, making him the highest ever draftee from the Greater Western Victoria Rebels – a feat formerly held by Hugh McCluggage who was nabbed by Brisbane at pick three in 2016.
The Giants traded its two first round picks and a future second pick to North Melbourne – securing the Roos’ first round pick in a bid to obtain Cadman.
In more momentous news, the Woady Yaloak Football Netball Club is now officially the 13th club in the Ballarat Football Netball League.
The Woady Warriors will be one of 10 clubs taking the field in the BFNL junior comp in 2023.
The historic decision has been four years in the making.
