A local florist is still waiting for fair compensation, after the Victorian Government acquired her shop for the Ballarat Base Hospital expansion.
After 31 years, Fiori Arte Florist will close this Friday, as the Government plans to turn the site into part of the new hospital entrance.
The florist’s owner Anna Harmes says it’s a very stressful time.
“The Government’s known this acquisition was happening for a long time and there are certain processes and time frames that they’re supposed to be following. They haven’t been doing that, so we’re still waiting and we’re just twiddling our thumbs,” she said.
“Eviction is getting closer and unfortunately we have to call it at some point.”
