A parliamentary committee is seeking to know more on the Ballarat housing projects funded after the cancellation of the Victorian Commonwealth Games.
In 2023, the State Government announced a $1 billion spending package for new social and affordable housing in regional areas affected by the Games axing.
At a public hearing on Friday, the Select Committee on the Cancellation of the Games will question Minister for Housing, Harriet Shing, and representatives from Homes Victoria.
In a statement, Committee Chair David Limbrick said it’s important they get a clear picture of the housing projects to date and whether the timelines and cost estimates for achieving the housing builds are on track.
A final report into the cancelled Games bid is due to be released in April.
