Following a swing in last weekend’s Werribee by-election, the CEO of the Committee for Ballarat says all state politicians need to deliver for their community more often.

Michael Poulton says next year’s election will be telling and the regions need to be front and centre.
“For me, there’s this sense of if much of our focus is around big infrastructure build in Melbourne, [that’s] wonderful for some, not necessarily wonderful for all,” he said.
“Let’s govern for the whole state and really start thinking about what those outer suburban areas and particularly the regions have to offer and are acquiring to ensure we’ve got the same growth opportunities.”
