Traders are looking forward to the grand opening of the Bridge Mall redevelopment tomorrow morning.
With works beginning in July 2023, the new space includes a road through the mall with around 20 short-term car parks, a portal view to the Yarrowee River, play space and new seating and plants.
The $23.3 million upgrade will open with a Welcome to Country smoking ceremony and an official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11am on Saturday.
The Bridge Mall Business Association’s Shane Donnithorne said works did take longer than expected, but traders have been very positive about the change.
“We’re all really excited about the opening on the weekend,” he said.
“We love the finished product; the redevelopment has come up really well, it’s a very calm, light, bright, open space and it’s a really good connection to Sturt Street and the CBD.”
