BREAZE asks council to reconsider ending funding agreement

Ballarat environmental group BREAZE have asked council to reconsider the termination of its funding agreement.

The city tore up the three-year, $285,000 grant after it became aware a former BREAZE president had allegedly posted antisemitic comments online.

New president, Peta Guy, says they haven’t heard back from the City of Ballarat as of yet.

“We requested a review on three counts. Of course, that is a confidential letter under the original contract that we signed with them in good faith,” he said.

“We’re sticking to our obligations on it, even if it appears that council may not be.”
