Another major sports event will soon take place in Ballarat, with the council securing the Bowls Victoria 2024 Regions Sides Championships.
The event, viewed as a vital competition for bowlers looking for state representative status, is set to be held on the 13th and 14th of January, with more than 1,200 people expected to attend.
The championships are also forecast to contribute over $215,000 to the city’s economy.
In a statement, Bowls Victoria’s Andrew Haug said with its central location, along with a wide choice of accommodation, restaurants and tourism attractions, Ballarat was the perfect choice to host the championships.
The host venues for the event are yet to be confirmed.
