A large gathering of Ballarat seniors will tomorrow attempt to get themselves into the Guinness Book of Records.

They hope to run the largest ever exercise class for seniors, however how many people they need to participate is not yet clear as the record doesn’t exist yet.

“We’re hoping to set it, and we want Ballarat on the world map,” said organiser Geraldine Hickey from Ballarat’s Life Activity Club.

“We want people to say; the world’s biggest exercise class is in Ballarat, where’s that?” she said.

The class, which will cater for all fitness levels and abilities, will get underway at 10.30am Tuesday morning near the Australian ex-pow memorial at Lake Wendouree as part of Seniors Festival activities.
