New police data has found the Ballarat region had the sixth highest number of car thefts in the state last year.
According to data from Victoria Police’s Operation Trinity, the local government area recorded 606 car theft offences in 2022.
Those figures are more than double the number of car thefts in the city ten years ago.

The Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon were the most common models stolen in the state last year.
