A Ballarat pole dancer is set to represent Australia at the World Pole and Aerial Championships in Poland.

Ashli Scott will make the journey in October after winning the national Elite Senior 30-plus division in Sydney on the weekend.

Ashli, who has her own studio in Delacombe, says AusPole is not the same as other competitions.

“It’s a lot different to the other competitions that can be trick and performance based.”

“This is a pole sport so it’s very trick based.”

“There’s a massive booklet that has a code of points in it and you have to follow compulsory tricks, there’s 4 elements of strength tricks, four of flexibility, you have to have a spin, an aerial deadlift and more,” Ms. Scott said.

Ashli is coached by former Australian pole champion Bethany Finlay who also calls Ballarat home.
