The Ballarat Foundation will be aiming to distribute over $50,000 in food, blankets and monetary donations to those in need, as it launches its winter appeal for 2024.
As part of the appeal, thousands of dollars’ worth of food pallets from Blake Family Grocers will be distributed to the appeal beneficiaries, the Salvation Army, Uniting Vic-Tas, Anglicare and St Vincent de Paul.
200 blankets have also been donated by the Creswick Woollen Mills, which have provided access to another 200 doubled checked blankets.
As more residents present to local charities, CEO of the foundation, Andrew Eales, is calling on the community to get behind the appeal again.
He says together, they can ensure everyone in the Ballarat community has access to warmth, nourishment, and shelter during the winter months.
Locals can learn more about the appeal and donate by going to the Ballarat Foundation website.
