The CEO of the Ballarat Gold Mine says they’re trying to be more transparent with the community.
It comes following the death of a 37-year-old worker in March and the recent approval of a controversial new tailings dam.
The Mount Clear mine will hold an open day this Saturday, allowing locals to gain insight into modern gold mining.

Dale Rogers from Victory Minerals says they have been a bit of a closed shop but are aiming to turn that around.
“I haven’t been here that long, [but] I think there is a history of that from what I understand of the anecdotal discussions and evidence and stories that I’ve heard,” he said.
