A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for a large part of the state including Ballarat with Melbourne, Geelong and Bendigo also included.
The Bureau of Meteorology says severe storms are likely to produce heavy rain that may lead to flash flooding, damaging winds and large hailstones.
Meantime, Vic Emergency have issued a moderate thunderstorm asthma warning for the Ballarat region today.

Today’s grass pollen forecast for the central district is also high.
