A Ballarat councillor says he’s disappointed Brown Hill’s new Splash Park will most likely not be ready for use this summer.
The park replaces the recently demolished pool and was set to open next month.
However, Cr. Des Hudson says it’s been delayed for reasons largely out of their control.
“It is a disappointing result; I was really hopeful that this would be up and running ready for the summer when kids had finished school, so they had something to do in their local neighbourhood.”
“Unfortunately, it is delayed, a little bit outside of our control but hopefully when it is operating in March it might still be the back end of summer, they’ll get some use out of it,” Cr. Hudson said.
The move from a pool to a splash park comes after the creation of the Brown Hill Recreation Reserve Masterplan following public consultation.
