Ballarat athletes have had a massive weekend at the Victorian State Relay Championships at Doncaster.
14 teams travelled to the meet with nine winning medals.
A Long Jump team was also included which was a new event added this year by Athletics Victoria.
The Female U16 4 x 400m side consisting of Kiana Jenkins, Shakira Lual, Matilda Fraser and Asha Meek came away with the gold in an impressive performance on the track.
Lual’s second leg got the girls in front before a gutsy final leg by Meek got them the gold.
The Female 50+ 4 x 1500m team also won a gold medal with Ruth Bartlett, Alison Fidler, Michell Hawkes and Angela Williams leading from the front and finishing strong.
To cap it off, both the female and male Open 4 x 400m teams qualified for the final which will be held at the prestigious Zatopek 10 next month.
