Sovereign Hill boss confident of Winter Wonderlights visitor rise

The boss of Sovereign Hill says she’s confident this year’s Winter Wonderlights can attract even more visitors than last year.

In 2023, over 90,000 people enjoyed the lights and ‘faux snow’, generating an estimated $25 million for the Ballarat economy.

Sara Quon says the event has turned around winter visitation by simply embracing the cold.

“Can you believe over that ten years, more than three quarters of a million people have come through to visit Ballarat for Winter Wonderlights?,” she said.

“I think it shows Ballarat can really embrace our weather when we want to.”
