Great growing conditions for Ballarat’s fruit trees have led to bumper crops this year.
Volunteers from the Hidden Orchard collected 2,500 kilograms of fruit in 2020, which at the time was a record.
That’s compared to around 2,700 kilograms so far this year.

The Hidden Orchard’s Ellen Burns says last year was not so good.
“Fruit wasn’t growing, it wasn’t ripening, we had that weird weather and I think the fruit trees have had a little holiday,” she said.
“It’s been an absolutely crazy season this year.”
