Conditions are set to worsen later this week, with an extreme fire rating forecast for the Central district on Wednesday, along with temperatures in the mid 30’s.

A number of roads are still closed in the fire area, including the Pyrenees Highway between Mitchell Road, Ararat and Greenhill Creek Road in Ampitheatre.

Relief centres are open at Alexandra Oval in Ararat and Princes Park Reserve in Maryborough, with the Beaufort Urgent Care Centre at 28 Havelock Street now open with reduced operating hours of 7am to 10pm.
