The principal of Ballarat’s St. Patrick’s College hopes a new partnership with football giant Liverpool F.C. could produce the next Aussie superstar.
As part of Liverpool’s international soccer academy, a high-performance soccer program will kick off at the school from next year.
St. Patrick’s will become a hub for several of the academy’s community training sessions and vacation programs.

Principal Steven O’Connor says someone is going to be picked up through the academy at some point.
“We all know that Ballarat has some amazing talent amongst our young people and established sportsmen and women,” he said.
“It’s got to happen at some point.”
