Des Hudson re-elected as Ballarat’s mayor

Des Hudson has been re-elected as Ballarat’s mayor for the final year of the council term.

Mr. Hudson, his deputy Amy Johnson and councillor Belinda Coates all put their hands up for the position.

Radio Ballarat understands the first vote count ended in a tie between councillors Hudson and Johnson, with Mr. Hudson gaining a majority in the second count.

Peter Eddy was voted in as deputy mayor.

This will be Mr. Hudson’s third time in the role, having also served as Mayor in 2015/16.
