Locals have shared their views on hooning in the Grampians region in an online community forum.
As part of the Government’s Hooning in Victoria project, 45 people logged on and provided their experiences of high-risk driving in the community, with rural open roads identified as usual locations, alongside busier roads in cities like Ballarat and Bacchus Marsh.
Many people highlighted how hooning created a sense of anxiety in their community, with education programs or campaigns noted as ways to reduce the activity.
The feedback will be provided to a reference group, helping to inform the Department of Transport’s next steps to tackling hooning in the state.
