The Rock Ballarat festival has been hit by circumstance for the third straight year, becoming the latest major festival to be lost from Ballarat’s calendar.
Rock Ballarat, which was set to take over the Showgrounds in the second weekend of February, has been postponed with no reschedule date provided, although a tentative date for April has reportedly been identified.
Organisers have pointed to a number of family illnesses that have taken time away from getting the festival up and running.
In 2021, COVID forced the rockabilly festival to be postponed, with it being rescheduled to May of that year.
In 2022 organisers again postponed the festival due to the difficult task of recruiting and housing so many people indoors during the pandemic; the festival did not find a new date last year.
Event organisers have communicated with ticket holders, and said in a statement:
“Thank you for your patience with us. We are devastated to find ourselves in this situation and will be working hard over the next few months to ensure that the event is a success. This will include regular communications of key milestones as they are obtained.”
